Programme Overview

The B.Sc. Mathematics program at Don Bosco College is a comprehensive three-year undergraduate course designed to cultivate interpretive, analytical, and logical skills crucial for success in the field of Mathematics. Students are trained to tackle both concrete and abstract problems, honing their critical observation abilities.
The curriculum encompasses a diverse range of subjects such as algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vector calculus, graph theory, differential geometry, complex analysis, real analysis, and differential equations. Practical sessions provide hands-on training, allowing students to delve into mathematical principles deeply.
Beyond Mathematics, students also gain proficiency in Computers and English, equipping them for success in diverse fields and industries. The well-structured curriculum enhances students' software computing, mathematical, experimental, conceptual, and communication skills, preparing them for advanced professional, academic, and research careers. Graduates are well-prepared for further studies, including M.Sc (Mathematics), MCA, M.S.W, MBA, and similar paths.
The Department of Mathematics at Don Bosco College, established in 2012, introduced the B.Sc. Mathematics course in the academic year 2015-16. With an initial intake of 36 students, the department has achieved notable success in placements. Over the years, numerous students have secured positions in government sectors such as police and banking, as well as in both IT and non-IT companies.
The department focuses on preparing students for group exams and competitive tests, offering coaching and guidance. The faculty, qualified and experienced, imparts instruction in Python, C, R programming, and essential concepts, enhancing students' employability in the IT industry. With six successful batches having graduated, the program boasts a track record of excellent placements and opportunities for higher studies.
