Partial image encryption plays a vital role in medical field, because small amount of data encryption leads to high security with low computation complexity. In partial image encryption, Latin Square Image Cipher (LSIC) and chaotic map are well-known algorithms. The LSIC algorithm divides the image into 16×16 blocks and then the entropy of each block is compared with threshold entropy from the entropy selection table. For each block, if the entropy is greater than the predefined threshold entropy, then the block is XOR with 16×16 random block generated by converting each row of LSIC into 16×16  block and shuffle the respective block by using the chaotic map. Based on the different threshold entropy values, different partial encrypted images are obtained. The number of encryption decreases as the entropy values increases. Depending on different entropy value selection, different partially encrypted images are achieved and delivers better results in light of mean square error and number of changing pixel rate. In real-time applications, field-programmable gate array implementation is required for image encryption design.
