Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell (SEDG)

About the SEDG Cell

In line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 formulated by the Government of India, the institution has established the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell. The Policy strongly emphasizes addressing disparities in access, participation, and success of students belonging to disadvantaged sections, particularly in higher education.

The SEDG Cell focuses on supporting students from communities identified as Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups, including women, minorities, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). These students often encounter challenges such as financial constraints, limited access to resources, social exclusion, and lack of academic support.

The Cell works towards creating an inclusive and supportive academic environment by identifying student needs, facilitating access to institutional and government support schemes, and promoting equal opportunities for learning and growth.
