Summary

The Anti Drug Club in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Don Bosco College (Co-Ed), Yelagiri Hills, organized an Anti Drug Exhibition on 10 July 2026 at 11.30 a.m. in the Examination Hall with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Tamilarasan, Anti Drug Activist. He addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of preventing drug addiction among youth through awareness, self-discipline, and informed decision-making. He highlighted the physical, psychological, social, and legal consequences of drug and substance abuse and encouraged students to become responsible citizens who actively promote a drug-free society.

The exhibition featured informative charts, posters, photographs, statistical data, awareness messages, and educational displays illustrating the causes, effects, prevention, and rehabilitation aspects of drug and substance abuse. The exhibits also explained the dangers of tobacco, alcohol, narcotic drugs, and other addictive substances, along with strategies for prevention and the importance of seeking timely support and counselling.

The event was efficiently organized by the NSS volunteers and Anti Drug Club members, who actively coordinated the arrangements, guided visitors through the exhibition, explained the awareness displays, and answered questions from the participants. Their commitment and teamwork ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.

Students from all departments of the college visited the exhibition throughout the day. They actively interacted with the organizers, observed the exhibits with great interest, and gained valuable knowledge about the dangers of drug and substance abuse, preventive measures, and the importance of maintaining a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The exhibition created a strong awareness among the students and inspired them to become advocates for a drug-free campus and society.

The programme concluded successfully with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, the Management, the Principal, faculty members, NSS volunteers, Anti Drug Club members, and all the students for their enthusiastic participation and wholehearted support in making the exhibition a meaningful and successful awareness initiative.
