MECHANISM OF INTERNAL/EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS

The college has a well-defined process for both internal and external assessments. Internal assessments (CIE-1, 2, and Model Exam) are scheduled and conducted according to the College Calendar. The Controller of Examinations oversees the preparation of question papers by course teachers, with scrutiny by the Head or a Senior Faculty Member. Papers are of 50 marks (CIE-1 & 2) and 75 marks (Model Exam). Teachers provide feedback and corrected answer sheets within a week, and scores are entered in the HiGrade portal for transparency to the students.

External assessments (University Examinations) are governed by a shared schedule, with eligible students allowed to take exams for registered courses. Question papers and answer booklets are received from the University before exams, and papers are marked out of 75. Each course is assessed on 100 marks (75 External Marks and 25 Internal Marks, comprising 20 marks from CIE 1, 2 & Model and 5 marks from Assignments). The University follows a systematic evaluation process involving approved staff members. Results are released on the University's portal, shared with the principal, and then distributed to departments for communication with students.

Grievance redressal mechanisms exist for both internal and external assessments. Formative assessment grievances are addressed by course faculty within 24/48 hours, involving reevaluation or re-examinations, with marks recorded in HiGrade. Summative assessment grievances related to out-of-syllabus questions, result discrepancies, and certificates are addressed through re-evaluation, with results published in the TVU Web Portal and final marks entered in HiGrade. University-related grievances, such as profile data correction and certificate issues, are communicated to the University and resolved within 10-15 days based on specified timelines. The college council ensures corrective measures are taken to address concerns.
