Programme Overview

The Department of Commerce (CA) was established in the year 2012. B.Com ( Computer Application) is a 3 – year undergraduate programme designed to impart advanced learning to students in the discipline of Commerce, particularly involving the application of software technology for business requirements. The programme follows an innovative modern curriculum. Upon successful completion of the programme, successful graduates can continue higher studies like M.Com., M.Com. (CA), MBA., MCA., CA., ICWAI., ACS. And also concentrate in the field of research. The student enrollment is 100 % in recent years. The total no.of students placed is 150 for the past five years. The department conducts a COMFEST program every year to update their skills and talents which are required for the job market.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO)

PE01: Education - The graduate will be able to continue their higher studies in the field of Commerce, Business, Management and Computer Applications 

PE02:  Employability - The graduate will be able to understand, analyse and work in any business environment as an accountant, cost accountant, management executive, technical administrator, system operators and system analysts.

PE03: Research - The graduate will be able to work in a research team to collate data and predict business forecasting. 

PE04: Ethical and Professional Growth - The graduate will be able to develop skills in articulating one’s own value system and live by the values in life and in one’s profession

PO1: Problem Solving: Ability to use appropriate knowledge and skills to identify, formulate,analyze, and solve problems related to technology, life and career.

PO2: Individual and Team Work: Ability to work effectively as a member and leader in ateam, preferably in any setting.

PO3: Communication Skills: Ability to communicate within the profession and with society at

large. Such abilities include reading, writing, speaking, listening, the ability to comprehend andwrite effective reports and documents.

PO4: Professionalism: Understand the professional ethics and apply the same for public and the public interest.

PO5: Ethics and Equity: Ability to apply ethics, accountability, and equity in all dealings.

PO6: Life-Long Learning: Ability to identify and to address one’s educational needs in the changing world in ways sufficient to maintain one’s competence and to allow him/her to
